The purpose of this site is to
provide information about the Glendale Water Supply Improvement
Project. You will find a discussion of the existing
plant and diversion operation. Also included is a review of
the planned improvements for the diversion
which has included an intensive public process. The site will
continually be updated with new information, public
meeting notices, FAQs from you and
the community, as well as surveys to
voice your opinion about the proposed plans.
To ensure that Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA)
is addressing community concerns, we have engaged in public input
process that will help to establish design and operating criteria
for the new diversion. This process has included many public meetings
with concerned groups, jurisdictional agencies, TMWA customers
and the general public. This site is published to keep every interested
party informed at all stages of the process.
Current Status:
TMWA and its consultants are nearing completion of design design
activities associated with replacing the diversion works. The
new diversion will incorporate the environmental needs of the
river and will comply with laws and regulations relative to endangered
species. The Army Corps of Engineers and several other state and federal agencies are reviewing the project.
