The purpose of this site is to provide information about the Glendale Water Supply Improvement Project. You will find a discussion of the existing plant and diversion operation. Also included is a review of the planned improvements for the diversion which has included an intensive public process. The site will continually be updated with new information, public meeting notices, FAQs from you and the community, as well as surveys to voice your opinion about the proposed plans.
To ensure that Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) is addressing community concerns, we have engaged in public input process that has helped to establish design and operating criteria for the new diversion. This process, which is now complete, has included many public meetings with concerned groups, jurisdictional agencies, TMWA customers and the general public. This site is published to keep every interested party informed at all stages of the process
Current Status:
TMWA and its consultants have completed not only the final design work associated with replacing the diversion works, but have also obtained all Federal and State permits to begin construction. In addition, an authorization for Federal Funding for the project has been obtained through the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA). The new diversion will incorporate the municipal water supply needs of the community, while meeting all environmental laws and regulations, including those pertaining to endangered species.
