The purpose of this site is to provide information about the Glendale Water Supply Improvement Project. You will find a discussion of the existing plant and diversion operation. Also included is a review of the planned improvements for the diversion which has included an intensive public process. The site will continually be updated with new information and FAQs from you and the community.

Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Glendale Water Supply Improvement Project is to improve Truckee Meadows Water Authority's (TMWA) water service to the Truckee Meadows. Improvement to the existing structure is necessary to maintain a dependable supply of water to the community. To ensure TMWA is addressing community concerns, we have engaged in an extensive public input process that will help to establish design and operating criteria for the new diversion. This process has included many public meetings with concerned groups, jurisdictional agencies, and the general public. Through this process a community preferred design and concensus paper was completed by the working group.

Current Status:
TMWA and its consultants have completed not only the final design work associated with replacing the diversion works, but have also obtained Federal and State permits to begin construction. The new diversion will incorporate the municipal water supply needs of the community, while meeting all environmental laws and regulations, including those pertaining to endangered species.
